Description: Typical screening and evaluation tools for dementia, that are used with the general population involve memory tests that may not be feasible for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This training will provide an overview of the risk of dementia in aging adults with IDD and established guidelines for diagnosing dementia in this population. This webinar will teach you to:

• Understand the value of identifying cognitive, behavioral, and functional baseline.
• Receive tips on how to complete the screening tool to capture observations about change.
• Practice in rating sample client cases. 
• Explore how to use the findings from the EDSD to plan services and supports.
